acrylic on canvas, 55x55cm £220

The textured paint and chunky impressionistic brush marks of the stones contrast with mystical. The ethereal sky with its contrast of colour and mood speaks of the changeable weather of Dartmoor.

The stone stands and the terminus of a row at Drizzlecombe , the isolation of this barren Dartmoor valley hides the wealth of history beneath the tough grass and bracken. They hide prehistoric settlement, long houses, stone alignments and burial cairns. It was a hot day, in a wide valley under a sky that threatened to break.
