Dissapate

mixed media, 34x44 Sold

The view as it was in 1909, from a photo of the Southdown Brick works taken from Clarrick Woods on the Rame peninsula. The woods survive as they have for many centuries, the industry declined and replaced by recreation and residences. Traces of the tile works litter the foreshore, a place of transition. A many layered painting reflecting the processes of change upon the landscape, multiple washes built up the human footprints on the land and then obscured them again.
